I’ve always had an affinity for animals growing up. When I was a young girl, I begged my parents to let me adopt a set of stray kittens and I was fascinated by our local vet. His sons went to vet school just before me and they led the way. I graduated from University of Illinois in 1997. My favorite rotation in school was ambulatory where we traveled from farm to farm. This was my first clue that I would enjoy a mobile practice. I worked in several veterinary clinics thereafter, where I discovered I had a particular devotion to ease the suffering of pets without hopeful recovery. I am often asked why I chose home euthanasia as the core of my veterinary practice. Although it started out as full-service mobile care, it evolved into solely euthanasia because I saw the need and found it to be very rewarding. It has become my calling and I am dedicated to helping pets in need of compassionate care.
